    Description

    Here is a real photo postcard depicting a woman names Queen Marguerite waving a flag to start the three days race derby. Photo by Jacobs of Nome Alaska. I find no information on this card, but I will surmise that this might be a shorter version of the Iditarod dog sled race. The original started in 1925 as the Great Serum Run to Nome. Queen Marguerite might have been an event queen for this year. AZO stamp box (1924-49). Clean and unposted.
